Phaedra’s Love

Can self-destruction be a mean of creation? Can the consciously sinful life be purer than a daily sinfulness after a weekly confession? Is the radical honesty with oneself possible or is it just another form of lie? If these are the questions that make us think, they must make us smile too.

While acting in a performance by Kane, actors must be ready to bare their souls in front of the audience. Only in such way the music of loss is born. Only in such way the unspeakable desire emerges.

“While trying to be radically honest with himself, Hippolytus gets isolated from the world among the walls of his room. I think such depressive existence is familiar to many. It is when you claim that the outside world is unworthy of your care, while at the same time hiding your vulnerability. I think that up until the last minute it will be difficult for the spectator to decide whether these characters are insignificant little scrubs or somewhat close to divinity”, – says the director L. Kutkaitė.
